try this out. http://www.cichlidae.com/binder.php?menu=cat click on Cichlids. It will bring you to a list of cichlids broken down by where they are found in the world. ie. North America, Central America, Madagascar, etc..
The names are current and pics are correct to the species.

One of my personal favorite websites. The man who runs it is a very nice guy and collects many of the species we keep, right from the waters they come from. He has helped me out with a few things over the years.
