Hi.
In my tank with threatfin rainbows, cory's, clown killies I also have two adult Siamese Algae Eaters.
Since last night I see that one of them is really blown up, starting right behind it's head. And all the scales on the body seem to almost stand out.
He/she behaves for the rest normal. Eats and swims round, although he/she likes to rest a bit more then the other one.
Does any one have an idea what could be wrong. Or is it perhaps a she, ready for spawning?

None of the other fish have it.

But it's not just the belly that is swollen.
It's his whole body.
What do I do? Is it contagious? Why is he still normally active?

There's not a lot you can do. It may be contagious. It may be active now, but that'll stop when it dies.

Thanks.
Did some research and when I hit "pine coning" I knew it probably is dropsy.
Put him out of his misery tonight. Feel sad, he was hard to catch. But don't have a quarantine tank and don't wanna put the rest at more risk.
Don't like to much medication since I have a planted tank.
Will keep a good eye on the remainder.
Thanks again.
