Hello everyone! I'm so glad I found this forum!
My apologies if this topic has already been discussed. I looked but I could really find an answer anywhere on this site, nor anywhere else on the internet.

I'm looking for a Self-Hardening Clay that is safe for aquarium use. I currently have Amaco Marblex, but it says it is not waterproof. I'm going to test a piece and see how it holds out submerged, but I'm more concerned with the safety of my fish.

I do not have a kiln, although I would like to get one in the future, and there aren't any pottery shops or anything around. I don't want to just use terra cotta pots, although I will use them if it's the safest option.

I currently have 2 bettas in a 10 gallon tank, separated, obviously. They seem pretty happy, other than flaring at each other every once in awhile.
I was wondering what the most docile tetra is (so far I'm guessing the Rummynose?), and how many I should put in each side of the tank. Opinions? I was also considering African Dwarf Frogs (would the water be too deep for them?). Opinions?

Sorry to include a fishie question in the DIY thread, but I figured I'd just ask it all while I'm here :D

Okay! I think thats all for now. :) Thanks in advance!!!

might be worth looking into bakeable clay, not sure of its safety but Sculpey is very easy to use...might contact the company and ask them.

Lol Oh man, I didn't even think of bakeable. Thanks, I'll look into it ^_^ I think I'm going to use a terracotta pot until I figure it out. I want to make custom hidey-holes though :D

Nobody had any opinions on my tetra/dwarf frog issue? :D

adf's do just fine in a 10g tank and I personally really like them. as far as tankmates, it really depends on your bettas. I have a betta I can't house anything with without him nipping the daylights out of them. My son has a betta that is housed with a mystery snail. Essentially you have 2 5g tanks...makes your options a little more limited. Are the sides planted at all?

I'm not so sure about their personalities. I haven't tried them with anything else, so it's a guessing game as to how they will react. I've heard it's not good to introduce new fish into a betta environment though. You're suppose to introduce the bettas last so they aren't so territorial. I might give it a shot with the tetras and get another aquarium for the frogs. Considering I do have the separator in there, I'm not so sure even the tetras will work. I'll feel like I'll be crowding them.
