I bought some used tanks and one of them came with a broken canopy. It just needs to be glued back together. Does anyone know if "marine goop" is safe to use, thats what i would prefer to use/ My second choice is super glue.

What is it made of that will determine what you should use. If its raw wood use elmers wood glue. Clamp it and let it cure for 24 hours for best results. My old woodshop teacher used to tell us that when used properly the wood will break before the glue will. For most anything else gorrilla glue is an excellent choice. Be sure to read the directions. You have to moisten the surface before applying.

Never used it. I would think that as long as the area that you are gluing doesn't come into contact with the water in your tank, anything that you know will bond it would be safe.

not sure about the chemical composition, but i have used goop for several different things, and it seems to pretty much be silicone... Maybe you can just use 100 percent silicone thats safe for aquariums to use as glue, especially if the part you need to fix wont be under a whole ton of weight or stress, and you pretty much just need it to stay together, silicone is tuff stuff, you figure it holds back tons of pressure in huge aquariums, i dont see why it wouldnt hold a canopy together, i guess good adhesion would be the only issue...
