safe?unsafe?

i am starting up my mbuna tank...are there any rocks that are unsafe to use that i will find around? i have collected several rocks, but im not sure what they are...i want them to raise ph some and harden, but i dont want any that are dangerous.

Get Some Texas Holey Rock. This stuff is great, it will also raise your ph some. I use it in my mbuna tank and they love it.

Also if you want to raise your ph, Crush coral works good as a substate.

Along with the crushed coral substrate, you might want to see if you can pick up some base rock that's used for a saltwater tank (or you can pay more for live rock and let it die in the freshwater tank, but then you have to deal with ammonia 'til everything on it rots off). It'll raise your ph and make the water harder.
