SAFE WINDEX

I wouldnt have said it was safe if it wasnt but thanks for undermining me.

Not saying that it's not safe, just reminding folks that natural things aren't always safe. I have no experience with it, so I don't know whether or not it really is safe, but I do know that some "natural" things aren't safe.

Very true. Water as a general rule is safe to drink but might not be safe for fish or inverts without using an additive. Why take a chance? I just use elbow grease, water, and my "fish towel".

Well if you dont have any experience with it you should keep your opinion to yourself.. I've done my research and posted this as a friendly cleaner that will not kill your fish purely from fumes or accidental exposure. I can't stand all this elitist crap.

The all natural is just a bonus weather it is friendly or not.

I'm just curious to know how you know it's safe? Like, what did you to do know it wouldn't hurt fish. Did you accidentally spill some in your tank or did you speak to somebody at P&G?

And also I wanted to know what you meant by safe, ie. you used it and(as you mentioned later) the fumes didn't do anything to the tank, or safe as in you spilled some in with no effects.

Before trusting new chemicals, I think all of us would like to know that the information is more than just a hunch.

Because my sisters company uses it on all of there kitchen supplies, catering.. also I've checked the grades on the solutions they have chosen. and this is not anymore harmful than supposidly safe aquarium silicone.. and clearly says on the side that this has been tested on animals. and if you want more go call windex and ask...

On the website, it says it contains ethanol and "plant based cleaners"(whatever that means).

Best practice is to be careful and not spray it in the tank....but that goes for, and works for, any cleaner.

Vinegar is great for cleaning things that go inside a tank, or the outside if you want.

Personally, I do just use Windex, or whatever glass and surface cleaner is close by.

Like I said, I'm not saying that it is or isn't safe. No need to get defensive. And who was being elitist?

The only reason why I said anything at all was because quite a few people think that safe for the environment means it's safe for everything, which, sadly, isn't true, and they find that out the hard way. Even what's safe for people isn't always safe for fish or other pets. While your Windex may be safe (once again, not saying if it is or isn't), there are plenty of things that are "natural" that aren't.

By what virtue do you call it safe? Did you accidentally spill a bottle in your tank or something?

Barring that catastrophe, probably just as safe as Windex, just supposedly not as harmful for the environment once diluted down enough.

Vinegar is also a good, cheap, "safe", cleaner.

+1
