I'm not allergic to anything I eat, but most things that touch my skin will irritate it. Hence, I take Benadryl almost everyday. For instance, did you guys know they make bottles of 100 Benadryl pills? I keep 2 of these bottles in my house, so I basically have antihistamines on tapLucky me.
One time I got stung by mud hydra and my hand swelled up and burned like you described. And yes, the showering made it so much worse! I found that soaking it in warm epsom salt solution really helped. Not only did it bring down the swelling, but I think it denatured the proteins responsible for the reaction I was getting. I really think it was the epsom, because warm water by itself truly made it worse and not better.
I do know that it's possible to die from eating Jalapenos, because most people will automatically react badly to the extreme spiciness.
Anyway, I'm glad that horrible ordeal is over for you, girl.
Wow...no way in hell would I touch that stuff! Wow, and I was so surprised at the pain one little jalapeño caused me...tai95 said:I have never had a problem with jalapenos burning my hands, but I did once get some of this http://www.hotsauceworld.com/bl3amrepeex.html on my hand. I have never felt a burn that bad in my life. No wonder I had to sign a waiver to buy the stuff. If you want to compare it to Tabasco. Tabasco sauce has a scoville rating of ~5000, Blair's 3am has a scoville rating of ~2,000,000. That is not even the hottest sauce they make.
Lol, thank you!budrecki said:Note to self: no chili pepper wreaths for Rowangel
ooooh, ouch. Did it swell?wesleydnunder said:Jalapeno juice in the eye is definitely painful but it's a mother's caress compared to a jellyfish tentacle in the eye. One of those will make you consider suicide to make the pain stop.Mark
