salt-sized dots on oscar

i recently put some salt into my oscar tank.

now i noticed salt-sized white dots on my oscar, all over his body.

but he doesn't look like having itchiness or sickness, behavior seems normal.

any ideas?

how much and what kind of salt did you add in? also, never add salt directly into the tank, it'll burn thier gills. try to dissolve it first, then add it.

some people say normal salt that you use in kitchen is ok. is that true?

i used like erm........say 10 pinch (my fingers) of those salt on my 65 gal tank.

please advise.

Ordinary table salt is fine as a disease treatment, yes. But why are you adding salt to an oscar tank? As it happens, the tiny amount you added is neither here nor there.

And yes, what you describe sounds like Ick.
