salt treatment for Chilodonella

Can I still use a salt treatment for chilodonella if the fish is also starting to show signs of bloat? I should have started the salt treatment right at the start, but i thought that the Malachite green/formalin medication would do the trick. after about 4 days now, the fish haven't shown many signs of improvement and I know now that I should have the done the salt treatment right away. Anyway, I am going to do a water change tonight and start the salt treatment. I have one angelfish that appears to be affected the most by the cilodonella and hasn't appeared to have eaten anything in like a week, but is still swimming around and staying upright. However, I noticed last night that he appears to be showing some signs of bloating now too. Is the salt treatment still safe to use on him? Will the salt help his bloat at all, or is there something else I should use in combination with the salt to treat his bloat. I am guessing the parasite has affected his osmoregulation since he has been infected for a week and has only gotten a little bit better. Can I reverse the bloating at this point or is it too far gone. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. :help:

I have read that the same salt treatment that works for ich should work for Chilodonella. ~ 2-3 teaspoons salt/gallon water. Does this sound right?

The angelfish still have the white filmy coating on them, and I have done a salt dip a couple days ago which appeared to strip off the slime, at least for the time being. Then I started treating with the Malachite green/formalin and saw no improvement and the white slime/film returned. It appears that salt has the most affect on the parasite and is probably less stressful to have an increase in salt in the water versus the meds. I know fish hate meds! I have used the salt/heat treatment on ich before and had great success after just a couple days. I sure hope it works against this protozoan devil!

Would epsom salt help the one angelfish that also has bloat, or maybe an antibiotic? I am just hoping that the increase in salt wouldn't make his bloat worse?
