Salts for mollys

do most of your guys use 1 tbl of salt per 5 gals for your mollys',platies, and swords(most sites i have viewed suggest it) and if so do other fish that you put in tolerate it or does it allow only for a tank of molly platy and swords.

dont put salt in with swordtails, guppies, or platys. they dont need it, and they will tank you if you dont.

even if you wanted to put salt into a molly tank, you would need to have marine salt to make a true brackish environment

Platies and swords aren't even brackish fish. Mollies can be if acclimated, they can also be pure saltwater. But as was mentioned, not needed at all.
