Great tank! Was your stand custom made? If not, was it specifically an aquarium stand? Looks like a nice flat screen TV stand!

Hi clawlan, yes, it was made by a local wood worker. Only wish I had asked him to make it a little taller so I could put more stuff inside! The skimmer didn't fit so it had to go behind the stand. I want to put in a small strip light above the sump to attempt some sort of a refugium, but space is really tight.

Cool. I was thinking about buying a tank and having a stand custom built. Do you mind saying how much that cost? Or at least if it is a cheaper way to go than buying a pre-made unfinished stand for $200-$300?

clawlan, the stand was a bit pricey. i wanted really a furniture grade piece for the living room, and the guy that built it did a great job. I would just flip through the yellow pages (What i did) to get some quotes and meet someone local if you are planning to have a stand built.

Newest and last addition for awhile. I really need to get a handle on water parameters. Have an outbreak of cyano. Doing water changes weekly now - 20 gallons - each. STill can't get skimmer running. Put in the plastic hose clamps, water seems to collect in skimmer and overflows, have tried adjusting flow from pump to skimmer, cant seem to get it right. Anyway, here are pics of my new guy, have had him for about a week, eating mysis for now.
