I am researching various waste treatment options in the pursuit of buying a house.
It seems that dumping brine into septic systems is very bad for them. Also there are a few places around here that prohibit dumping brine into town sewer.
My question is how do you dispose of the 20% brine water a week that you change in saltwater systems? I had some crazy ideas of making some sort of elaborate evaporation field where that I could then collect the salt and dump it. Then i got to thinking that there are millions of saltwater aquariums and I've never seen any such products available. if this was really a problem then there would be commercial products trying to solve it.
I hope to have a 300g or so tank (hard to find houses with family rooms with concrete floors). i was considering saltwater, but knowing this i'm not sure.
