Hi, I recently(2 months ago) had some tanks and some fish fall into my lap.

I have a 20 gal containing guppies and a community tank (55 gal) with some local lakeweeds, an angelfish, 7 tetras, 5 rosy barbs, a small pleco, 4 chinese algae eaters, a spotted loach a fiddler crab and some ramshorn snails. (Dont worry fiddler crab has "up high" places out of the water via a rockpile and floating rubber "rock" and floating plastic plants on the one corner...He crawls around up on top alot and he seems glad I added them, the original owner didnt have it. He(the crab) recently molted (I hear thats good?))

I am "lightly" salting to keep the crab happy and the other fish all seem to be doing well with it.

I think the power filter that came with the set up helps alot.

I am doing all the needed water changes and everything has been great for the month or 2 Ive been up and running. Havent lost a single fish.

The fish were abandoned by an AWOL science teacher and so far I have been quite satisfied with her left behind equipment and fish. Although trying to keep different aquarium inhabitants happy seems to be a real challange.

Anyway Im rambling.

I was supposed to be just saying hello!

Welcome canopenner.
Well that's quite an accomplishment. Most new to this will lose a few fish before they catch on to the routines. Even the more experienced lose one now and then as the fish age. Glad to hear you are doing so well.

Well, Id prolly be alot worse off if it wasnt for the internet, also I hauled away 2 10 gallon buckets of the original water.

And thanks for the warm welcome!
