I've had these two Salvini's in my 40L for about 5mo. now and they've finally paired up. They were two of 4 that didn't pair, and didn't look like they were going to but, last night I noticed she's got eggs. Don't know when she laid them but, I should have fry by the end of the week. My last pair I had didn't have too much luck with fry. They always seemed to disappear. Even when I moved some fry to a seperate tank, they all disappeared the same day. Any advice on how I might be able to over come this and get some fry to survive would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Sounds to me like the female is eating the eggs, ive just recently had a pair spawn about 5 clutches of eggs over a period of 3 weeks. This is a good sign but also puts alot of stress on the fish so i decided to seperate them for a few weeks. They may still be too young to have fry. I say give them time but be sure you look after them. Aparently the eggs will be eaten if they are unfertile, the female does this to prevent any "good eggs" from being infected. Watching them at this time is briliant the colours they display is amazing and all the earthmoving they do is quite amusing and entertaining. good luck with them and read this it may help -
