It's possible but I highly doubt it. The first pic definitely looks male to me and the second pic looks like most of the females I've seen.

Are you sure? They look the other way around to me. The females have a dark spot on their dorsal fin and a spot on there gill plate (like what your "male" has). They also usually have more red on their bellies. Males usually have longer dorsal and anal fins. At least that is what I've always thought.

Well put it this way I KNOW it's a pair NOT 2 females.
