sand cleaning fish?

my sand got stired in my aquarium and is settling on my plants and make them look like covered in poo. i was wondering if there is a shrimp or something that cleans the sand off from plants.

there is no current because i heard that the planted aquarium needs to be still.

No, a planted tank needs a little bit of current, otherwise plants would not get the nutrients and Co2 they require.

Ideally you want to avoid surface turbulence *if* you have a CO2 supplementation system, because more gas will come out of solution at the air/water interface. That's the only reason. If you're not adding CO2 plants will benefit from water movement also, and even if you are then a non-splashing filter such as a canister filter is a fine thing to have.

As long as you do not have excess surface agitation you would be fine with adding some current.
