good evening, well I have my new tank setup and running without any crushed coral but with sand as advised here. I was at the lfs today buying some more live rock and I was telling the salesman about my new setup. He said that I shouldn't go more than 1-1.5 inch in depth but I thought that someone said that to an extent deeper is better. Have I messed up, I have about 3.5 inches in depth and before I go much further on my tank with the rock layout if needed I should remove some sand now. Thanks in advance for any help here.

nothing wrong with 3.5 inches of sand. You might want to go up another inch for a deep sand bed it just depends on what you want. I'm glad that it's starting to shape up for you next stage is the fun part. I hate c.c. b.w. lol.
