Sand for Corys

thanks!

Thanks for the comments. The sand I have looks like tumbled sand so looks pretty safe for them! Thanks again!

If you do not want/have any plants then keep sand to a minimum. I keep lots of corys years ago with only about 1/4 inch of sand.

Thanks for the sand advice. I have about 1/2 inch of sand throughout the tank and about 1.5" of it where the plants are... They are happy lil panda corys, these buggers! Before I found out they were shoaling fish, I kept usually only one or two... and they were never that active... now I see how a group can make a difference.

I have 4 White Cloud Mountain Minnows with the 4 pandas... u think I can add maybe one or two more corys? If so, what is another smaller type that is easy to get?

Thank you!

Cory Hastatus, Pygmaeus, Harbrosus all grow to less than one inch. Most others grow to only about 2 inches. Some (like Barbadus) can get fairly large.
Feed them well and do lots of water changes and you can keep up to 5-6 per 10gal of water.

Wow, that is like my tank. Cories and minnows. A great combo. I only have 3 cories in it right now but since I have had such great luck and the tank is heavily planted I will add another one soon (after I move), probably another peppered as they stay on the small side. I have 5 minnows. Is your tank 10 gallons? If so then yuo should be able to add another cory but make sure to be diligent about water changes. Water quality is another reason that cories loose their barbs.

hey

there gravel is fine as long as it is smooth and not sharp i use small smooth pebbles with no troubles for my cories!!!
