Sand substrate?

Tahitian Moon Sand really does enhance the color of my fish, but ya its a pita to keep clean although its been a little easier since upgrading to a 75g :)

Well I got some of that Quickcrete all purpose sand today. Washed it and put it in my 10 gallon. (I had to buy a 50 pound bag!) It hasn't settled yet, but I think I'm going to like it. I can't wait till I get it planted so I can show you.

can you get a pic of how it looks with this type of sand?

Here ya go. I bought some fake plants for the fishes to play around in till I get some live ones. My plan is to get some kind of ground cover and maybe a few tall plants.

Can someone post pics of Tahitian Moon sand and how it looks in a tank?

Also, are mystery snails compatible with sand or will it hurt them?

Thanks!

Here's some pics of the tahitian moon in my 55.

I have a mystery snail in there, and the sand doesn't bother him. I'm thinking he probably likes it better then he would gravel as I've got mystery snails in all 3 of my tanks, and only the one in the 55 burrows. The other two tanks have gravel.

Looks good! Thanks for the pics.

I'd like to do sand in the tank I am setting up now, I think I can handle the maintenance.

I think the waste shows up less with black sand, and the fish supposedly show up better, so it's win/win.

I checked my local petsmart and they carry it so that's a positive for me as well.
