Sand Vs. Gravel

i love the look of sand but i had a bad first experience with it, but mostly it's to blame on the BGA outbreak i had in my former 10G betta tank. it's hard to clean BGA off sand.

in the future though, im hoping to use sand again.

Even then, you will still experience mini cycles after switching substrates.

not always. there is a chance yes but you might have no mini cycle at all.

I think sand looks better, but usually it is ugly from fish waste causing more vacs for a lean appearance.
