saw a thread in the archives about this, tried to look on the intreweb for success and could only find a few comments on sites trying to sell this stuff. i know evey one in the old tread said that they would try it after research was done. i too am a bit scared to put this in my reef system, so my question is; has anyone tried this yet or heard of it working? its a bit expensive at 40$ a bottle but if it cures my tank and doesnt kill everything it could be worth it.
thanks to all
thomas

I would ask what is going on with your tank that would lead you to add something like this to your tank. I generally don't like put additives or other products unless I can help it. I've seen enough stories of people who have added one product or another and there were some unforseen consequences.

seems expensive, but worth it if it works...can anybody vouch for it? what is the company's history? if it is so great, how come nobody sells it? how old is it?

I have seen that product for YEARS. It is sold in every LFS in the area, including PetSmart and Petco.

If you read the bottle, it states it kills the free swimming infectious stage of ich, so it won't completely rid your tank of it, just help get it off the fish for a short time. You still need to get rid of the ich parasites living in your sand and rocks and this medicine won't do that.

Has VERY BAD reviews though.
lost 3 previously healthy fish blue tang that brought ich in survived still had ich after, treated at high dose per instructions for a full month, tank got dirty, coral unhappy, giving up on fish :(
Doesn't work. The depot shouldn't cary it. 1 month of treatment and fish look like they've been rolled in salt.
Not only did this NOT cure ich on my blue tang after the two week treatment, but some of my other tangs now have ich which they didn't before I started this two week treatment.
"Metronidazole" by Seachem. One scoop in the food along with garlic drops. Let soak for an hour and feed. It will kick ich much better than this Ruby Reef Kick Ich which is a joke.
Blue tang did NOT heal up after using this two week treatment product. I don't think it's very good for the corals either the way they started to look.
This stuff works only if used for 5 to 6 weeks straight or it will return, but it is the only reef safe cure. Use the stronger dose schedule with weekly water changes. Worked twice for me this way.
It has now been 2 full treatments and it has yet to clear up all remaining ich. I have a clown fish and powder brown tang that hang out together and seem to keep getting infected while several other fish show no signs of it. All the others are however getting regular cleanings from my fire shrimp. I think though that with 2 full treatments of kick-ick it should have completely wiped out all remaining ich.

I don't believe it's the same product.

Oh sorry, I simply looked at your link, it say's Kick Ich in the URL and at the bottom of the page they sell the product and there is no picture. No, not the same product as the top of the page. My mistake.
