saragassum sp

The longer I'm in the hobby, the less I like caulerpa. It can go sexual and make a mess, and can spread all over the display tank. I have not kept sargassum, so I am simply parroting what I have read. It is not supposed to be as good for nutrient export as some of the green macros, but is OK. I have been using chaetomorpha for about a year, and I am totally sold on it.

Algaebase is a great site for ID. Unfortunately, it's down for maintenance for the moment.

well if i find me a good used HOB refugium i want to pak it with brillo. When i set up my 20 H im thinking about glueing in a piece of plexy about 4 inches from the back wall and drilling a bunch of holes in it to allow water to flow thru and of course ordering som brillo macro and placing it full of it. It will be a in tank refugium.
should work. Oh and ill use a protein skimmer and thats all. This tank will house 1 or 2 anenomes and some clowns.

seaweed

I live in TX. This stuff piles up two foot deep or so on the beach. i could mail you some from the water if you want. People here would think your crazy. I hear it only grows in one sea and floats all over the world from this one place?
