I rearanged my tanks yesterday and I'm not sure how I feel about them. One thing in particular I'm not sure of is the background I bought. I only got one, with black on one side and blue on the other. I'm not sure which side and which tank to put it on.

Any thoughts about the background and decorations? I have lots of hiding spots in the second tank for the shy corys, and open foreground for the tiger species tank.

To me, the blue gives the tank more depth - but it's really up to you since you'll be the one looking at it. :)

I've got that same type of background, and when we got our first tank, our neighbors set it up with the background inside the tank, blue side showing.

I didn't like it that much.

So, I trimmed it to just fit inside the lip of the plastic rim the surrounds the top and bottom of the tank, and put it on the back of the tank on the exterior side of the glass. Even though it's an aqua blue like yours, outside of the tank it looks a lot darker with a lot of depth. webcricket is right here...it makes the tank look much bigger, even though it's only a 38gal.
