Saulosi's and tiger barbs???

I have an old male cherry barb (legacy from a prior setup) in with my saulosi. He fights with the females. He stands his ground. His fins get shredded, but they grow back.

I am setting up a smaller tank for him and buying a couple of females. He deserves it. He's over four years old!
