That tank is gonna look sweet. Since you already have them, I think I would try the Transcriptus in this tank as well. Hopefully your losses will be minimal in this large a setup. I had to remove a Tret from my 55 due to aggression, but that's the only problem child I"ve had so far. The remaining Tret goes after the Sexfasciatus ( which is twice it's size ), every now and then, but no jaw- locking yet, thankfully. The Trets seem to be much more aggressive than the Sexfasciatus. Anyhow, keep us updated anf get some pics when you can.
 
Julies, shellies, calvus, cyps, and a big open area for enant kilesa. BN plecos for a clean up crew and leave any synoes elsewhere. shells in one area, rocks in another, open sand between them - floor space is covered. Open area up top, the cyps will be left alone there. Throw in a pair of gobies, they inhabit every level.

Yeah, I think a few of us are going to miss your fronts also; but I understand why you are doing it, pittbull. Anyways, keep us posted and send some pics of the new setup. It will look great!
 
thanks my friends yeah i will have some fun getting those fronts out they tend to dig in when my arm goes inside the tank, but coolness now that i think of it on the cyps i may do a group of 6 for you cyps handlers is that a good ratio in a 120gal.

120gal stock list will be:
5 N. Lelupi
6 N. Brichardi
2 N. Tretocephalus
5 A. Black Calvus
1 N. Buscheri
1 N. Helianthus
3 N. Cylindricus
5 Julidochromis transcriptus or ornatus ?

2 synodontis eupterus
2 synodontis ocellifer


i am still debating on whether i should add the N. Mustax to the 120gal or just leave them in the 55gal shellie setup, the N. Melaegris shellies will go in a 20gal that is housing 4 baby albino bristelnose plecos, and to place the julidochromis ornatus fry possibly in a another setup, yay will be fun and i will post photos soon, thanks guys..
 
Skip the brichardis (I really believe they should be kept in a species tank) and go with the cyps. 10 is really the minimum for a group of them.

The buescheri would look too similar to the transcriptus IMO. May be some issues there.

I believe the helianthus are like brichardis when they spawn...terrors.

jpappy i understand your pain my friend but as of to date the brichardi's have a lock down in the 120gal i have two sets in a colony of 6 guarding fry right now but their defense range is very short in this setup which is the back middle of this 120gal everything else go's around or over them and are fine they definitely go after the helianthus they dont tolerate this dude what so ever and your right they do look alike except the heli is golden yellow in color which he is the target most of the time, unfortunately i have these fish together right now except the cylindricus which i did get some tonight but are at a whopping 1 1/2 inch in size so i have them in a seperate setup right now til they can fit into their murderous shoes and then be placed in the 120gal, right now i have 6 - 1 inch J. ornatus in a 20gal with baby albino bristelnose and i have 3 J. transcript's in the 55gal with the shellie community that are almost full size so i was thinking of adding the lone member of the transcript's to the 120gal leave the mated pair in the shellie 55gal and well the J. ornatus will be some time before they reach an attainable size to go into any tank, i will get rid of the colony of assuie rainbows and do a cyp colony as well for top water action and i will be stocked to the gills, i dont know if the trets are a pair they are still small i just recieved them a week ago at 2 inches wow i was sad when i took my fronts out today i have had them since babies and are at 3 yrs old, sniff sniff, oh well i got a new marineland canister for them hehehe, when they reach a more photo size i will snap a few and post take care my friends..
