Just saying hi and glad to find such a site. I love my fish and just got a larger tank for Christmas. My sail fin pleco seems to be having the hardest time adjusting to his new surroundings but he really needed a bigger place.
I have had my gourami (Mr. G) for 7 years - I found him abandoned in a large pot in the lobby of the building I lived in at the time; I've had my blood parrot (Polly) for almost as long; and I've had my pleco (Toy) and the corys (Cat and Dog) for about 5 years. This is actually the luckiest I've ever been with fish! I keep a small group of neon tetras (too difficult to name and keep track of) for a little added variety.
I know that most experienced aquarists would say that the blood parrot would not not do well with the gourami and the little fish (on account of the fact that many blood parrots would probably try to attack and eat them) but I have been fortunate and have not had that problem.
So, that's my fish hobby in a nutshell. I look forward to learning more.
