Scared to lose my zebras

WOW never have i had such trouble with getting a fish and never have i got them from big als in such bad condition!!! these golden zebras (that i got on saturday) were in 15g tank with about 13 other zebras and 10 small plecos.

When i got them home i saw that they were very skinny! BONE THIN!! and had reds mouths...so i put them in my planted q/t with my betta and they have not eatin!! ( FOOD IN THE TANK IS : SHRIMP, SNAILS, i put in sinking wafers, and shrimp pellets!! they will not eat anything)

One of them has lost all his colour and looks like he is only a day away form dieing ...the other will shurly follow soon after...what i need to know is what is there more that i can do .... any "Special" things i can do is what i guess i meen to ask....i really love there personality and do not want to lose them.....THANKS

Hi,

They are probably really stressed from the conditions they were kept in at big al's. If you get fish from a petstore that are really stressed and in bad condition, sometimes no matter how good your tank is, they die. Also are your Nitrite, Nitrate, and Ammonia levels low???

Ya they are not in my 55g, they are in my 15g q/t it is fully cycled and all levels and great. they do not seem to be stressed they are swimming and playing...they just pass over the food

Hi,

Once I had a Buffalo Head Cichlid, but he would not eat a thing(not even frozen brine shrimp!). I decided to return him to the petstore, bacause I didn't know what was happening to him and was worried he would starve. All you can do is to wate and see what happens or return them to the petstore.

I hope they start eating soon!!!!

I got blood worms with my babie coolies i got tonight (at the aqua show) and i am goin to try feeding them the blood worms (hopeing the zebras will see the coolies and realize it is food)
