Scarlet Badis

My lfs got about 10 tiny Scarlet Badis a couple of weeks ago. They are no bigger than the smallest neon tetras right now. Anyway, they are too unique to pass up so I bought a couple.
Does anyone else have them? According to my research, they are carnivors. Since I bought them just last night, they really haven't done any eating, but I put in some frozen bloodworm this morning and a couple of shrimp pellets. The lfs guy said they have been eating flakes, even though they shouldn't be interested in them.
Just thought I'd share this info and ask for others' experience with these beautiful fish.

Be prepared to feed them live food. Nobody on the badis group at yahoo.com has succeeded in getting their Scarlet Badis (now Dario dario, BTW!) to eat a flake. So your lfs guy must be pretty persuasive.

My (larger) Badis ruber can deal with Lumbriculus blackworms. You might try yours on clean tubifex. (Clean them in a bed of Java Moss barely covered with unmedicated aquarium water for 24-48 hours.) Baby brine shrimp are an alternative, but a hassle. Ever try culturing microworms? Pretty easy.

Scarlet Badis look like they're going to be Fish of the Year!
