Hey, I have a 29g. tank and I was wanting to have a small school of fish and can you give me some names of peaceful schooling species that mix well w/ mollies, swordtails, and dainios?

tons of different types of tetras, rasboras, whiteclouds, even some barbs. Kyle

I personally like Harlequin Rasboras, they look neat, and have a very cool body shape and in my experience they tend to keep a good looking school, unlike neons, and some others that tend to school very loosely if even school, once they feel comfortable in the aquarium, also another good one is rummy nose tetras, they tend to school really tightly.

I also just started up my 29g

Right now I have 6 Cherry Barbs and one Male Betta. The last time I had it set up, 5 long years ago, I had a dozen neons, a pair of dwarf gouramis, a male betta, 4 zebra danios and at least one type of cory, but it could have been 2. It was a nice set up and all the fish got along. They all actually grew rather large. When I took them to the shop to resell since I was moving, the guy was shocked at how big they were. Some of the neons were nearing 2.5 inches and the betta was near 4. I figured it was the size of the tank that let them grow.

I wanted neons again, but the petsmart I was at had some pretty sick fish. The neons were bad, the dwarfs had ick and the zebras all had some sort of spinal deformity. And the guy was like ya I know, so i just steer people away from them. I suggested he get a different supplier.

But regardless, I'd like to fill out the barbs to a dozen, then maybe get a dozen neons again, the dwarfs again because i love their look and a 2-4 cory's. What are some of ya'lls thoughts?

Fishkeeper- I have a small group of rummy nose tetras and they always swim together. I think they are great!

I too like the rasboras. They seem to be less fragile than the tetras. Pretty resilient fish, and good schoolers.

I just got 20 Harlequins and they are all over the place. I assume they need some time before they start forming a nice school?
