you realize land masses are rock formations right? and the land masses are so big that they can actually float, no air bubbles in land masses to make them sink.... but then again once an earth quick hits or something bad happens and a part of the land masses fall off, yes then they do sink, so what do you think on that part?

Are you serious? Think about it for a minute. Do rocks float? No. If there were air bubbles big enough they could float, not sink. So the air bubble theory makes way more sense than floating rocks. It's simple physics. Smaller rocks don't float or sink any better than bigger rocks, it's a density issue, not mass. I bet you weigh the same as a duck, and you would float too.
 
haha if we ever had an invasion, those hats better turn to a real steal armer for the whole body... cause just protecting the head wont protect the rest of the body that may get lasered......

Steel armor is just silly. If they are using lasers then it'll just cut through the armor or even worse, melt it. For lasers you must strip completely naked (don't ask why!) and tape mirrors to yourself. Then you can reflect the lasers back at the bad-guys. And then you can stand there (alive) laughing while all the silly people in metal armor die horrible horrible deaths (well, maybe laughing wouldn't be very appropriate in a situation like that...). *Science*

To answer this part, it's because even though the mirror reflect the laser, enough of the laser beam is absorbed by the glass of the mirror. The heat from that is enough in a short term blast to ignite polyester, nylon and cotton on a molecular level. It doesn't hurt your skin because it's so fast, think about waving your hand through a candle, it would ignite the thread, but it wouldn't hurt bad. Once again, science prevails.

Also, this is a great selling point of my authentic tin foil hats, cheap fakes that use aluminum can set your hair on fire if the government tries using laser or microwave beams, but my tin hats don't conduct heat like aluminum so you stay safe.

Actually, that wad a babble has a grain of truth. A larger object has more Surface Area with which to hold itself up on. Granted, a rock still won't float unless it's very light and very spread out, but the general process is still the same.

Denser objects (rocks) will sink into less dense ones (like water). However, the continents to float in a manner, as they float on the denser rock beneath them. Ocean floor rock is denser then continental rock, thus it sinks to the bottom. It is still less dense then the molten rock in the mantel, so it floats on that. So, in a weird kind of way, LBF is right. The crust floats on the mantle like ice on a pond.
 
i stand by chef on this thread... science is changing faster then you think, we are making new discoverys everyday, already broken the speed of light/sound. already have alot more then we did 10 years ago, heck back in 1995 we didnt have all we had now. sciences is changing everyday.... whether for good or for bad. still changing.

First off, we aren't sure about the speed of light law, and if it is true that you can breach it there is probably a catch (everything has a catch). Science itself doesn't change, just our view of it.
