Sea cucumber

Anyone have one of these or have any tips. I've read all the "nuke cuke" articles, but I've also read the articles that praise these animals as one of the best sand cleaners around. Even that some of them, if highly provoked and evicerate themselves, aren't even poisonous enough to have a huge impact on the tank. I know these creatures are a bit of a crap shoot, so does anyone here have an opinion? Thanks, here's a pic...

Based on what little I've read, the ugly, sand-sifting ones don't seem to be a problem. I have come across several "my sea apple nuked my tank" threads, but never for the sand-sifting types.

Exactly what I've read too. I'm hoping this guy will help with all my cyano. I've tried moving my pumps around, feeding less, cleaning it out by hand, and it just comes back?

they're ugly as sin. I had one until a rough mantis shrimp grew up in my live rock and ate him. Good at controlling the cyano, but I like conchs too.

looks like a donkey tail and they are great at cleaning sand ,"and pooping out little packets of sand all over." I've never had problem one with mine or with my yellow filter feeding caribiean one. I think that most of the problems with nuke my tank comes from the sea apples like morg said. The only problem you might run into with it is he will get kinda BIG,"like a couple of feet maybe". Other than that though they are great. And I know that we are all proud fishey parents but, this duckling ain't never turning into a swan.

Mine even reproduced and other than the near heart failure it caused me there were no problems for the fish or anything else.
