More info on tanks
My post had used the word cycle in my post to refer to general ongoing cycle of removing ammonia.
All of the tanks I refer to were already well established and cycled tanks (ie had gone through the cycle and were producing nitrates) before I started using prime.
I saw another thread which might give a hint on this, they suggest if you are using one water conditioner, the act of changing over itself will create the problem, not the new conditioner. I can see how that might have some truth in it. Either way, changing water in 4 tanks every day/night as a result of switching to prime was not a fun experience and will unlikely be going back to it any time soon
