I read in another thread it is quite good? What are others opinions. Is there a superior product I should look for instead.

Meh...I'm not a huge fan of these type of products. I'd much rather cycle using pure ammonia although at this point I just keep reusing the same bacteria (via filter media) from my original tank. So, if you have a tank already set up go that route.

I've never used stability personally but I did originally cycle using Biospira which I think has since then be renamed and/or also duplicated by its creator. Either way my point is that I still experienced ammonia and nitrite spikes and it wasn't pretty for the fish. Bad batches happen as well as mishandling so overall these products are going to be hit or miss.

And I certainly don't trust any company spokesperson or even the guy at my LFS to tell me that the bottle actually contains the correct bacteria necessary for cycling. And although I'm sure someone HAS had success using a product I am just not convinced. Personally I'd like to do the testing myself but no sense wasting money when I've got perfectly viable bacteria for free already. If ever someone is going to try them out I would strongly suggest using pure ammonia as a source and not fish.

Just my thoughts...sorry if it sounds rant-ish.

Hmm well even if it helps give a boost I might still be interested. I did some searches on it and it's all very confusing as to what would be the best produt.

Well I already have one goldfish and I would like to add his new friend from quarantine without screwing my newly established cycle.

NM I added him. I'll just test the water religiously.

Stability has never failed me. In this year alone I set up a 40g and a 20g long from scratch with Stability. Cycling was complete in 5 days on both tanks.

x2 I have used it on more than one occasion and Stability works great. You just have to make sure you follow the instructions. I have not had good results from Biospira or TetraSafe Start, only Stability.
