to all you poor seaclone owners, like myself, here is an interesting and simple mod. i put a wide rubber band around the neck of the collection cup, and lubed it with veg. oil. it makes a nice tight seal, and so far, mine has increased double or more in production! i've tried all the others, like cutting down the inner tube, and changing the air valve, and they help. but this simple mod really seems to have made this thing work! just re-lube the gasket each time you clean the cup...it seems to help.

So along with the rubber band you did the inner tube cut down too? What did you end up using for the air valve?

Interesting. I have an old Seaclone 150 that I ended up putting back on my tank a few months ago alongside my AquaC Remora Pro just for comparison. The thing barely collects anything even with a few mods while the Remora has to be emptied twice a day. I may try this rubber band trick and see how it works.

i used a plastic air valve from another powerhead, not the best, but better than the stock one. i couldn't believe what a difference the rubber band made, this thing is actually almost mediocre now! hope it works for you!
