seed shrimp outbreak

What type of big shrimp do you have? Would you be able to net out the big ones and add a few fish to munch on the seed shrimp?

I would keep you new seed shrimp, considering they make an excellent snack and are harmless.

They are totally harmless and if you cut back a little on feeding they will eventually go away. Don't sweat it too much. You will make a lot of extra work for yourself.

I do have shrimp tank and have also problem with seed shrimp plague, They are not completely harmless, they are eating delicate plants like water sprite,, even water liily..I've got 1 platy to get rid of it ,and platy ignores seed shrimp, they have hard shells and most of fish wont eat them. the good thing is platy doesn't bother cherry shrimp, even the babies are ok, swimming all over the tank. still the problem exists. I've heard tetras like black skirt or gouramis would eat them, but I wouldn't take a risk, if You have shrimp like me in the tank, smaller fish wont eat it for sure

I have ghost shrimp and gambusia together, and haven't had a problem since setting up the tank in October. It's planted, I have mopani with Christmas moss attached, marimo balls, wisteria, and plenty of cover to keep everyone happy. Ghost shrimp are much bigger than cherries, tho. No seed shrimp, but I'd agree with the suggestion of cutting back on feeding. That seems to be the trick right now to keep my snails from overpopulating.
