no boiling, all pieces go through a 2 step cleaning process after being harvested.
the 1st step is pressure washing to remove surface dirt & debri
the 2nd step is high pressure steam for sterilization. although harvested wet most pieceswill require soaking to rehydrate. there is a good bit of info in the article tittled "driftwood basics"on our website thedriftwoodstore.com
