I have a few questions regarding selling my Otopharynx lithobates fry. I have appox 30 that are close to an inch long now with another mouth full on the way. I have talked to a couple of LFS about trading them in. They are interested, but I have no clue what they are worth. I only have a 5.5g & 10g grow outs, so I wont be able to keep them until the males start to color. I'd like to trade for food/filter media, etc... but I'm not sure what to ask for. I paid $11.99 for the male, but he was just starting to color, mine wont be near that size when I get rid of them.

Anyone in SW Florida, (Charlotte, Lee, Hendry, or Collier counties) who are interested in a few, shoot me a PM.

Here is pic of my male.

Thanks!

Yeah i was going to say generally around 5 bucks each for the Litho's, pet shops probably only give you a few bucks each.. good deal buddy on the spawn..

the biggest problem is moving juvies in a retail shop. haps, peacocks and even a lot of smaller s/a cichlids look nothing like the adults in full color. and if someone doesn't know what the WILL look like, they walk right on by. therefore they usually can't get much for them.... maybe a nice pic of DAD accompanied with the little guys will help the store move them, and help u clear some babies. price wise, u r prolly only gonna get 2-3 bucks each for em. if they can sell em for 5-6 bucks each......

Thanks for the advice everyone! Good point RiftLakeRosco, I was told the same thing by one LFS owner. He's having the same problem selling his juvi Electric Blue's. He says people just walk right by without giving them a second look because the of their lack of color/size. I brought in a pic of daddy and he was interested, but I need to grow them out another couple months.

Around here i can only get store credit, the big chain stores have a policy not to accept donations............:)

Store credit would be fine with me, replacement media for our Fluval 405 isn't cheap lol! How much do they give you per fish? What species?

I haven't fooled with the chains, only privately owned stores where I have a good relationship with the owner. We have a half dozen of them locally.
