selling plants procedure

1- get your hand ready to put in the tank
2- put it in the tank
3- keep putting it in the tank until you reach the plant
4- grab the plant and take it out
5- take a papertowel and wet it in the tank... squeeze out some of the water so its just moist not soaked
6- place the plant in the towel and wrap it how ever you want
7- take a ziplock bag and throw the towel in there
8- you can add a few mls(5mls or so) of water just so inside stays moist
9- when you close the bag make sure that its filled with air slightly, this will act as a cushion for the plant so no outside pressure does not squish it
10- grab a priority media box from USPS
11- grab a few pages of a magazine or newspaper and crumple them in the box as a bottom layer
12- place the plant in the box and top with another sheet of paper so it wont move around while in transit
13- write address on box
14- take it to post office and ship priority (say no to all their questions..nothing liquid, fragile, hazardous..etc..)

15- turn around leave the post office
16- go home and email the buyer telling him plants were shipped
17- set the clock for 48-72hrs and wait till its done

Umm... after all that my question would be the costs...

As with Mgamers link, that sums up the packages whole costs right, shipping and weight? Also do I say ship it priority, or just use those USPS stickers that states priority.

And I doubt a liberty bell stamp would pay for everything or what can it do?

if you use the 7x7x6 box or shoe box, under 1 lb costs $4.80 to ship, delivery confirmation at the post office I think is $.80. If you print postage through paypal, the delivery confirmation is free and you can just drop the box at the p.o. or schedule a free pick up.

the cost just go to the site and do an approximation. Most of the time plants are under a pound so just put in 1lb for the weight and zip codes and most likely you will get $4.80 for the shipping (might be higher if its going across country)

When you are in the post office they can give you FREE priority boxes. Ask for those with the glue already on them.

You can with liberty bell stamps lol just get $5 worth of them :thud:
 
I ordered priority boxes from the website for free.

I thought liberty bells do not need any extra postage, that it pays for everything?

Nevermind it says its worth 41 cents :S.

the boxes will only come in 7-10 days and at times they dont even come :rant2:

Just stop by a post office and ask for some.

Well I guess another question would be, if I bought the whole package packed with everything and I bring it to the post office. Is that where they do all the calculating, and everything else and all I do is pay for any costs?

Seeing that by using http://postcalc.usps.gov/ , it would be hard without a scale?
 
You can just buy a little scale that measures up to 5 pounds in wlamart for no more than 11 dollars. Thanks for making this thread, it's given me the idea that it's pretty easy to ship plants, I think I will start doing that now.

You wait in the long line looking at the strange head thats infront of you for about 10min and then you take it to the window, they open it, you place the box in there, close the window and then they ask you all those questions which you should answer NO to. Then they weigh it, you pay and BAM
 
What kind of questions :S.

I will just pretend it is opposite day so I can say no to everything.

So to sum up the thread:

Get boxes
Package the shipment
Go to post office and allow them to stamp it with everything needed
Say no to everything asked
Pay
Than you are done!
