Had to move my four 3 1/2 year old angels into a new 120 g wide tank. 7 clown loaches as well. My 72 g bowfront was failing structurally. I'd like to add a few more angels, but am concerned the codgers will slaughter any juveniles I add. Any input appreciated.

I wouldn't unless they are of fairly equal size...and plenty of decor to provide territories...

I got a kick out of Bob being the first to answer this post...:grinyes:

Anyways, I agree...I'd just keep the angels you have or at the very least get some of similar size.

you whack-o jpappy...earth years are always deceiving...

You could try with a divider for a month or so for them to get used to seeing the other angels. Also, as said before, try to get big angels.

How many are you thinking of adding?

i added juvies (2") angels with my adult angels and they were not bothered. they get chased alitte but nothing else.

one time i added a new adult male with my adult angles and they beat the crap out of him. i had to put the new adult male in another tank becuase he was almost killed.
i never tried adding many adult angles with my existing angels. the results would probably be different.

Dunno. I'd like to think the tank could handle an additional three or four. I was thinking a dozen or so pristella tetras would finish it w/o overcrowding.

You could add another 4 easily.

You could add a few more , be aware of possible aggression and if you add 4 more you may wind up with a pair.

the tank is a 120 wide?

if you have vertical structure it may help.

I would be careful in adding new angels to an established setup. The older angels have probably established territories and will defend them against intruders. If you want to add more angels I would suggest completely rearranging the tank just before releasing the new ones. That way no one has had the time to establish a territory. I would also try to add angels about the size of the existing ones. Once the new ones are released feed them all a bit. Feeding distracts them. BTW, 3-4 years are adults but not old yet.
