Serious BBA problem...for over a month now...

As mentioned before, add some quick growing floaters or other stem plants (wisteria, rotala, Stargrass, guppy grass, Vals. etc.). You do have way too much light for just the moss and the swords you got growing in there right now. You don't need to add "a CO2 system". Just get some fast growers in there to suck up those nutrients. Keep up with the Excel/CO2 Booster as well.

so it sounds like i gotta set up some kind of CO2 system in my tank then huh...

You don't really have many plants in there, CO2 would probably be more trouble than help and unless you really want to go that route. Do your research before going that route, it can be a can of worms. I meant to say Carbon, not CO2, Excel provides Carbon, just make sure you're using it daily at a good dosage. You need more plants, sounds like you got something, so that's good.

... she also said that i didnt have enough light for my swords. 2x 54watt HO t5's. She said i would need a third...

She is selling you something you definitely don't need. You definitely don't need more light than 2x 54watt HO t5s in a 55 to grow some swords. You just need to balance light and Carbon and make sure your other traces are ok.

You should decrease light here, not increase it.

You guys are awesome...Ok so ...This is what i'll do..

Just set up a 5 gallon bucket..filled to 2.5 gallons and triple dosed the bucket. let all my ornaments and rocks w/moss sit in it for 5 minutes...Rinsed it afterwards, and scrubbed as much as i could off the moss with my hands..cleaned all the air hoses free of the moss as well..Cleaned it off the Filter as well.

Remove one light so theres 54 watts of 6500k... Run the timer at 8 hours light for now?
dose excel daily..
Add some Nutrient soakers- anacharis for now, its at the pet store and cheap.
Cut back on feeding..
trying to find some amano/ S.A.E

Seem like a good battle plan?

All except this!! Didn't you say that when you have anacharis and you dose excel, it melts it? That's just going to contribute to the problem.

Find something besides Anacharis or Vals.

^ totally caught me! I better pick another one then....damnit! lol...ok So whats another floater that is easily removed, not luck duckweed ect.

Cut your photo period to 6 hours & use only 1 bulb if you can. Hydrogen peroxide can kill BBA as can Excel. Your's looks unhappy, it turns red or pink when it's dying but it doesn't remove the ugliness, it imbeds itself into the leaves. Trim off all you can. Vals & anacharis hate Excel & will die with very much exposure. Shrimp can help with removal as can BN pleco or SAE IF you have room/compatible fish...& patience, there are no fast fixes. Good luck!

For floaters, Water Sprite, Frogbit, Salvinia (if you can find it), giant duckweed (you can remove it since it's big), or whatever you can find at your LFS.

For fast growing stem plants, Water Sprite (floats and grows submersed), Hygrophila difformis, Water Wisteria, Myriophyllum aquaticum (Parrot Feather), Hornwort, and Cabomba all grow pretty fast, others might have experience with plants. Kind of depends what you can get at LFS too.

I like the water sprite/ parrot feather and the Frogbit. Are these easy plants to keep?

Sounds like an excellent plan. Keep in mind as already mentioned, as things, including the BBA, die off, it can raise your nitrates and get you into a horrible loop. As it dies off you have to get it out of there. So you may need to do frequent water changes to vacuum the nasty crap out.

Ok figured i would update this...GOOD NEWS...The BBA is dissapearing!....BAD NEWS...ITS TURNING GREEN! lol...Seems like a created a new problem with an old problem.
