Set Up and Here We Go

Okay we are all set up. Added 125 lbs of Marshall Island live rock on Saturday, water cleared almost instantly and the pics show the results. As we placed the rock in a sandstorm we still have to rearrange a couple pieces especially those at the left center. I did like the flatness of that top piece for placement of light loving inverts. So any comments on placement, there is about 6-8 inches of clearance at the back and sides with a good 10 or so in front. I know it remembles a wall but there are channels and a bit of an overhang that I liked. I noticed something growing today on the rock.....could this be the dreaded aiptasia and will peppermint shrimp or crabs eat this if it doesn't get out of hand? thanks!

I love Marshall Islands rock! My tank is full of it, you have some nice large coral rock pieces! Great to see someone else using it!

I have a piece very similar to your top flatter piece, I have it standing on it's side, kind of at an angle because I was worried it would topple at some point... I plan to put some small acro's on it, with some mushrooms and polyps...

I like the aquascaping, lots of caves and overhangs. Nice places for cardinals to hang out. How stable is it?

I would hit the aiptasia with kalk paste or something before it decides to spread.

By the way, I added the bracket back to your link in post 1. I couldn't resist.

Actually it is a lot more stable than it appears. Though I do intend to drill a hole down through the two stacked rocks and insert a piece of pvc tube with a "t" at the bottom to aid in stability just in case some one undermines the sand bed beneath it. Not only are there overhangs but there are diagonal gaps between the base rocks and holes through to the back between them. There is good space between the rocks and the glass too. I was afraid when I bought those rocks that the pieces were too large and had visions of having to either sell one or break it up. I still would like some smaller rubble pieces for the base. But this is the start.
