Setting a .gif as my avatar

I've tried doing it several times, but it always ends up just being a still picture.What am I doing wrong?

the file is too big.

resize it, or remove a few frames to reduce the size of the file.

Has to be 150 pixels or smaller

Usually if I had problems the file was too big, resizing it has always worked for me.

If possible, attach/link the original working GIF file in a post so I can download it and look at it.
