Setting up 29 gal

Well after lots of input from this sight I am going with a group of neon rainbows and cardinal tetras. Mix of real and plastic plants, driftwood and maybe a rock or two. I'm thinking black gravel or something very dark to show up the fish. Any opinions?

Black gravel or if you go with a background a black background with lighter gravel. I would also do a school or Black Neon Tetras. That would be a nice contrast.

I have seen some pictures of tanks with both, black background and black gravel. They looked very nice. Realy made the colors of the fish and decor stand out.

True but you will need more lighting in my experience with double black it really makes things dark.

It is a matter of personal preferance. If you do a black background with dark gravel just make sure to select plants and fish that do not have dark tones to them or everything will appear dark in your tank. I agree also that with so much dark you do need to pay attention to your lighting needs for the aquarium.
