Just a thought here. I'm getting ready to set up another planted tank when I had a thought......would it actually be beneficial to the plants to use water from another tank since it has all the goodies in the water?

Now I'm not talking about cycling as I have tons of media that I use for cycling a tank. I just thought since there were nutrients and stuffs in the water column that it may actually have some benefit when putting plants in a new tank.

Just a thought...what do you think?

Pretty much all that will be there are nitrates and maybe some trace amounts of other nutrients, but a good majority of setups will require additional supplementation of fertilizers anyways. Might as well use new water to give you a clean slate for dosing, if you go that route.

Just thought....thx

I never used fertilizer for my plants but I guess you could transfer water... it wont hurt but add some new water
