haha I guess I'd have to come up with something better than jerky then I'd be getting that bird out of the sky none the less, if not scaring it from ever coming back

Thanks for the warnings. But I'm not too worried about Herons. They don't pass over this particular area very often, and when they do I'm sure they'll go for one of their usual large ponds instead. And the 3 dogs won't allow a Heron near the pond I'm sure. If I start having any problems I'll get a screen, but not right away. I just wish it would warm up. Its unusually cold right now. Thanks.
