Setting up new SW tank, need to know about the goodies

i went to dr. foster & smiths sight looking for "live rocks" but what i found was it looked like large rocks that would take up a lot of space in the tank. is that the live rock that everybody talks about putting in the tank? and where can i get the right type of sand?

yep "live rock" is just rock that has living things on it (Basicly)

They also sell live sand. If you go to the section for supplies, you can also find other sand to use. The play sand that they have at Home depot can also be used.

ok i'm really confused now. :help: so i should buy live rock? like big chunks? i've seen some crushed coral, is this what you mean or something like it? this was in a bag at lfs ???

Try this link, the first one on the page. Most lfs in my area has white marine sand.
