Hello everyone...I got myself a 30 gallon tank + air pump + heater (all seem kinda old to me) last night for $30 which I thought was a decent deal...Today I went to my "lfs" and got some prices on some "parts" and this is what I came up with...
If I go all new...
Power Head $52.99
Filter $36.99
Air Pump $31.99
Heater $27.99
Under gravel Filter $31.99
total of $181.95
my question is would I need both an under gravel filter and a regular filter...or could I get away with just using one? I'm starting school in September and I would like to be able to save as much cash as I can...whats everyone's experience with a under gravel filter?
I've compared to some Starter kits but I would like try to make this tank more of a permanent thing than just a hobby...I've been at this fish thing for a year a half now and I'm already on tank #3 now
