Can anyone please tell me what type of cichlid these two are...

I also have a small yellow tail acei who has some tail fin damage. Would he be o.k. in a mix tropical tank with a few bolivian rams, kribs and gouramis? He's only about 1 1/2" long and everything in the mixed tank is 3 " plus.

And last but not least, should I add any salt to the water in the chiclid tank to help any fish that might have fin damage and would this hurt the live plants that I have in there?

Thanks

temporarily? probably for a month but after that, no.

Hi,

I'm pretty sure the frist one is a Pearl of Likoma (Melanochromis exasperatus).

I think the second one is a Trewavas's Cichlid (Labeotropheus trewavasae) or a Eduardi (Pseudotropheus socolofi). But I think I might be wrong on the second one.

I was looking around for the name of these fish and I now think the first picture is a female Melanochromis dialeptos. Anyone know if the salt would be a good idea for any fish with nips to the fins, and how would this affect the two live plants I have in the tank?
