hey everyone.

i have 2 severums, one is gold and one is green. when i was siphoning the tank today i noticed that they got very agressive when i moved it into one of the corners the green one flared up and its bottom finns turned a awesome orange. i looked at the rock at that corner and i saw about 2-300 translucent white balls that were stuck on the rock.

latley i noticed an increase in aggression in both of them. now they are staying in that corner and not letting any of my other fish anywhere near that corner.

i just thought that this was weird because i thought that they were both males. i will post pics when i get them. also is there anything that i have to be worried about with this situation??

thands all.

Are there any other fish in the tank? If not I would say you don't have much to worry about unless you want to try and grow out some of the fry.

Usually the first couple of times they spawn they will end up eating the eggs or the fry but you never know. I would like to see pics if you get a chance.

there are some other fish in the tank but they are all smaller peacefull species except one juvie angel. so if i just leave them in there, theres a possibility that some survive?

ok then ill just let this one cycle itself out and try next time because i have alot on my schedule right now and dont really have the time.
arent severums mouth brooders though?
wouldnt that protect most of their young?

Nope...they aren't mouth brooders. They will protect their fry though. That is of course if they don't eat the fry themselves. Don't stress about it. Hopefully you will end up with some free swimming fry in your tank. Even if they don't live very long it is always fun to watch a swarm of fry being protected by their parents.

btw how do you get your severum in your avatar so pretty? i will rarly see my green more colorful than a very dark green color.
