hey,
i was at my fish store and i was lookin into buying a pair of the rams but i wasnt totally sure how to sex them and the guy said that they were males. i have never heard of just males being sold and i thought i saw some females in there. the one that i bought i believe is a female because the black spot has a blue sheen. is there an easier way to determine the sex besides the black spot.
thanks

Does "she" have a pink belly? That is a pretty obvious way to tell. Also, is there a lot of black on her pelvic fins

Pink belly, bluish sheen on the black spot, dorsal ray will not be as extended/pronounced, less elaborate finnage are all signs of a female. The best way though is to vent them.

:iagree:

Lots of signs that will likely give you the right answer but venting is 100% if done properly.
